The Family, Child and Youth Service delivers programs for children, young people, families and communities within the Northern Beaches who are experiencing or at risk of vulnerability.
We seek to be responsive to community needs so if there are any programs that you think we could create, collaborate on, or facilitate, please get in touch.
Love Bites is a respectful relationships education program for young people aged 15-17 years. The program aims to provide young people with a safe environment to examine, discuss and explore respectful relationships and empower them to choose relationships free from violence and abuse.
Beyond the Gloves
Beyond the Gloves is a free program that empowers young girls between the ages of 12-18 through physical exercise and mentoring. This builds resilience, self-esteem and confidence and promotes body positivity and mental fitness. This results in increased school attendance, motivation, meaningful connections and peer support and improved relationships.
Supported Playgroup is a weekly school term program at Brookvale Community Hub delivered in partnership with Integricare. The group is aimed at vulnerable families with 0-5 year olds. It provides a structured and positive learning environment in which children can socialise, play and learn and is a great way for parents to meet and share their experiences. The team can refer and link families to health and community services.
Raise Youth Mentoring
In collaboration with Raise Foundation, we provide youth mentors in two high schools in the Northern Beaches. The aim is to equip young people with the tools, skills and resources they need when facing challenges including depression, anxiety, bullying and fear of the future. The impacts of mentoring helps young people stay connected and engaged with school.
